Microsoft Office latest update has been rolled out and it incorporates a built-in translator in Word along with search capabilities to make it easy for the users connect with their co-workers and their shared content. All thanks to this Microsoft’s accelerated software release cadence, Word now includes a better built-in translation tool that can give the users freedom to make sense out of documents from their overseas colleagues.
Microsoft is implementing a cloudlike approach to its software updates, which simply means that the Office 365 users will get to use new features as well as improvements on a more regular basis. This latest update provides new ideas for users who daily use Word’s translation tool to decipher documents authored in other languages.
Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president at Microsoft Office, said in a blog post that “We have revamped the translation tools in-built within MS Word. You can easily translate sections of texts, or your entire document, and review or save the result as a regular document file”. “Translator supports sixty languages, incorporating 11 that use neural machine translation, offering best quality and fluency to help you work more confidently.
Just like Google, the tech giant, Microsoft utilizes neural network system to enhance the quality of translated text, which is another example of Microsoft opting artificial intelligence technologies across its software line. Users can find this new language feature in Word under the Review menu item.
Apart from new flexible translation tools, the tech giant has also expanded the reach of Tell ME, which is a power search and support tool in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Users using commercial Office 365 plans can find for people as well as files across the entire organization, or share their own documents using this exciting feature.
After this update, Office 365 supports all 3D objects, which can be utilized to make creative PowerPoint presentations, Word documents. The update has also made it easier to share and organize 3D content using the OneDrive cloud file storage and sharing service. Users can now easily view 3D objects in OneDrive application. The browser-based OneDrive.com service, meanwhile, supports direct opening and viewing without adding any plugin.
On the other hand, Outlook.com users also have an improved way to keep tabs on their co-workers. The web-based email application offers the consumer users to check LinkedIn profile info without switching from their inboxes. The MyAnalytics (earlier known as Delve Analytics add-on for Office 365) dashboard has three new charts that allow the users increase their time and make a perfect work-life balance. Building on weekly snapshot visualization that depicts users how much time they spend in meetings, emailing their colleagues and doing other work activities.
A new Trends chart shows changes in those activities over long stretches of time, making the users observe how well they are progressing and implementing on their work goals. Apart from this, another chart named Time Investments shows a user’s contacts in a number of “orbits”. Those contacts whose orbits appear closest show a tighter work relationship. Last but not the least, Your Groups chart depicts the top 6 Office 365 Groups in terms of engagement.
