Safety management measures at the workplace after circuit breaker period 

As the number of transmission of COVID 19 comes down the government will relax the restrictions imposed on the country and will selectively resume some of the economic activities. Resuming selective economic activities is highly necessary at this time since it will support the local businesses which in turn will help in protecting the livelihood of the general public of the country. But at the same time, the Ministry of Health (MOH) needs to ensure the health and safety of the people and have to prevent the chances of re-emergence of community case of COVID 19. As a result, there are huge requirements for Safe Management Measures to be taken at the workplace after resuming the economic activities. 

Steps to be taken at the workplace after resuming the economic activities

The following are some measure that you must take at the workplace after circuit breaker period:

  • Wearing mask: Every employer or business owner should ensure that their employees or staff, visitors, suppliers, or contractors wear a mask. The employers or business owners should also provide a mask to their employees or staff.
  • Maintaining good personal hygiene: Every employer or business owner should encourage their employees or staff to follow good personal hygiene and thereby encourage them to wash their hands frequently either with a shop or alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Cleaning the premises of the workplace: Every employer or business owner should ensure cleaning of the common spaces especially those areas which have huge human contact. For example, counters, lifts, pantries, toilets, bin areas, etc. Apart from that, it is highly necessary to clean the machinery, equipment, tables, desk, etc.
  • Conducting regular temperature screening: Every employer or business owner should also conduct temperature screening to their employees or staff at regular intervals and check if there are any kinds of respiratory disorders in them. 
  • Checking the travel history: Every employer or business owner should check the travel history of their employees or staff and visitors since in case they have travel history in the past 14 days they need to be quarantined.
