Why Connecting With Your Audience Makes More Sales

Connecting your audience is very important, especially in a time where we’re shown movies like the Wolf of Wall Street, sales moguls like Grant Cardone, Dan Lok, Jordan Belfort, etc. All these movies and moguls give you the impression that sales are all about being confident (harboring on arrogant), being out there and talking to your customers as if they are just pawns. This is not reality, and will never be reality for many and unfortunately, it’s a growing plague in today’s businesses. So, what are some REAL tips to connect with your audience? Well here’s a few that have guaranteed me greater ROI in my businesses:

  1. Personalizing your messages to clients

It doesn’t matter whether you’re selling a product or a service. If your business isn’t at a stage where you can use automated messaging systems, don’t bother using it. You should definitely focus on trying to connect with your audience and giving your company a face. Message them, ask them about their interests, what sort of products they like, and connect with them as if you’re connecting with a friend. I don’t mean be annoying – this is really important too. Connecting with a friend means not trying to get anything out of the conversation, just learn a little more about the person. If you focus too hard on getting sales, the customer will be able to see straight through it. Personalize your messages and your approach to EVERY client. When I first started my business, I did that with hundreds of people daily. If I can do it on my own, you can do it too.

  1. Have a website that focuses on the client

For most people, your website is your company. It’s where you sell your products, it’s where you generate your leads, and it’s where you connect with your audience. If you don’t have a good design on your website, you’re basically chucking your company into the dirt. When I started my first ever dropshipping business, I remember using a random template on Shopify and assuming that I will end up making tons of sales. I absolutely did not make any sales at all. Once I started to invest time into my web design, adding things like chat boxes and making the colours match with my products, it made a substantial difference and I got way more leads. I wasn’t able to do this on my own though, I had found an awesome deal through a really good web designer. Don’t get me wrong, I had other things leveraging the business’ position too like SEO and paid advertisements, but I’m 100% sure it still made a huge difference.

  1. Retain your clients as opposed to getting new clients

This is particularly the case for service-based businesses and wholesalers, but it’s equally as important for product based businesses. To have repeat customers, it means providing a good product or service. If the base of your product or service is not very good quality, then the truth is, you’re just out here looking to make a quick buck. A sustained growth of a business is predicated upon how high quality a product or service is. The market does not lie, and 99% of businesses fail because their quality does not live up to the standard. Providing a good quality product or service is not good enough either, you should also remember step 1 and that is to focus on connecting with your audience. I’ve lost clients in my service-based business because I didn’t bother messaging them and keeping up with them throughout the job. I was busy, yes, but sending a message takes 2 seconds of your time. Just asking them how they are, if they are doing well, etc. can really let your clients connect with you and therefore they’ll have more of an incentive to stay with your services.

I hope this article has been helpful, and I hope you can implement these things (if you haven’t already) into your company ASAP!
